!The Team Kindness 8th graders here at SIS went on a field trip to Hyde Park in New York on Monday, April 3rd.

At 6:45 am the buses departed for Hyde Park with a busy day ahead of them! All of the students attending this field trip visited many different places such as the Vanderbilt Mansion, FDR museum and Library, and FDR’s house.

At the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, the students visited this site that was established as a monument to an era. This mansion is especially interesting because today, there are very few examples of houses that show how a way of life was modeled in the English country.

The students will also visit the FDR Museum and Library. Here at the Museum and Library, the students will be able to tour the home and museum and stroll the grounds, gardens, and trails of FDR’s 300 acre site.

Lastly, the students will eat lunch at the Eveready Diner where Guy Fieri joined the locals more then half a century ago and where they still continue to bake their own bread and pancake batter from scratch. This will definitely be a fun field trip and you won’t want to miss out!
